About Marie Vue

Leadership Rooted in Yuba County

Proudly born in California and raised in Yuba County, Marie Vue is a community leader dedicated to creating opportunity, strengthening families, and building a safer, more prosperous future for all.

Personal Story – “Meet Marie”

A Lifelong Yuba County Resident Who Never Forgot Where She Came From

Marie Vue is a proud American, born in California and deeply rooted in Yuba County’s District 1. She attended Linda Elementary, Alicia Intermediate, and Lindhurst High School. Some of her favorite memories include family picnics and fireworks at Ellis Lake — moments that taught her the importance of community, tradition, and togetherness.

Marie and her husband, Mike Vue, have built their life and raised their family right here in Yuba County. Together, they share a commitment to faith, family, and hard work — the same values that drive Marie’s dedication to serving her neighbors.

Values & Roots – “Deep Roots, Strong Values”

From Local Fields to Public Service

Marie’s father was a farmer who grew fruits and vegetables until the day he passed away on their family farm. From him, she learned that farmers are the backbone of our community — and that hard work, access to water, and community support keep Yuba County strong.

Her parents instilled a lifelong respect for the land and the people who work it. That foundation of faith, responsibility, and service continues to guide her work today as a Yuba County Aging Commissioner, where she advocates for seniors, veterans, and working families.

Mission Statement – “Why Marie’s Running”

A Passion for Positive Change

Marie believes in getting things done — fixing what needs fixing, protecting what matters, and building opportunity for the next generation.

She understands the challenges Yuba County families in District 1 face: limited job opportunities, unsafe roads, and public safety. Marie is committed to breaking the cycle of poverty and building a community where every family has a fair shot at success.

“Leadership means listening, acting, and working together - not for politics, but for real progress.”
- Marie Vue

Her vision is simple: a stronger, safer, and more prosperous Yuba County where every family can thrive.

Marie Vue Priorities for Yuba County, District 1

PRIORITY 1: 🏗️ JOBS & ECONOMIC GROWTH

Bringing Good Jobs Home

District 1 families deserve opportunities close to home. Marie will champion small businesses along the Linda corridors, cut red tape for new start-ups, and partner with workforce agencies to build job pipelines in construction, healthcare, logistics, and public safety.

She’ll advocate for a “Small-Business Fast Lane” program to streamline permits, storefront improvements, and micro-grants that help entrepreneurs grow right here.

Every new business opened in Linda or East Linda strengthens our local tax base, keeps commutes short, and builds pride in our neighborhoods.

PRIORITY 2: 🚧 INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS

Safe Roads and Modern Neighborhoods

Families in District 1 rely on well-maintained roads, working levees, and safe parks. Marie will prioritize road repairs on of Yuba County District 1 roads, while supporting Caltrans’ SR-70 safety upgrades.

She’ll push for stronger coordination between Yuba Water Agency, levee projects, and county roads so that every project leaves our community better connected than before.

Marie also supports new park investments—more shade, lighting, restroom and playgrounds—so children in East Linda have safe spaces to play close to home.

PRIORITY 3: 🚓 PUBLIC SAFETY

Protecting Every Neighborhood

Public safety starts with trust and the right tools. Marie will ensure deputies and first-responders have updated training and equipment funded by Measure K, and she’ll promote greater transparency through public crime mapping and community meetings.

She supports quarterly Neighborhood Safety Compacts where residents, deputies, and code-enforcement officers set clear goals—reducing speeding, dumping, and nuisance properties.

Strong partnerships between residents and law enforcement mean safer streets, faster response times, and neighborhoods we can all be proud of.

PRIORITY 4: 🌾 SUPPORTING AGRICULTURE

Protecting Our Local Farms and Water

District 1’s roots run deep in agriculture—from rice fields to walnut orchards. Marie knows strong farms mean strong families and a stronger local economy.

She’ll work with Yuba Water Agency and local growers to protect water access, improve drainage, and make sure road and levee projects support—not disrupt—farm operations.

By encouraging small ag-business ventures such as local co-packing, drying, and farm-to-market programs, Marie will help keep agriculture viable for the next generation.

PRIORITY 5: ❤️ REDUCING POVERTY & STRENGTHENING FAMILIES

Creating Pathways to Stability

Too many families in Linda and East Linda face barriers to steady work and affordable housing. Marie will expand job-training and youth-internship programs that connect residents directly with local employers.

She’ll partner with community organizations to bring family-support services closer to where people live—libraries, parks, and schools.

Her goal is simple: give every family the tools to become self-sufficient and thrive right here in Yuba County.

PRIORITY 6: 🤝 COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & TRANSPARENCY

Listening, Responding, and Delivering

Marie believes government should listen first and act openly. She’ll hold monthly Open Bench Meetings rotating through Linda, and East Linda, so residents can speak directly with her and county staff.

“Budget in 5 Slides” summary showing exactly how District 1 funds are spent—on roads, parks, and public safety.

Through open communication and accountability, Marie will make sure every voice in District 1 is heard and every concern receives a clear, public response.
