Over the past few weeks, our campaign has experienced something truly meaningful. Beyond the usual political excitement, we have seen the strength of community spirit as neighbors unite to support a vital cause.

At every campaign event, we encouraged attendees to bring canned goods and non-perishable food items for the Yuba-Sutter Food Bank. The response was overwhelming. Bags filled with donations, children helping carry bags, and families giving generously to help others in need created a powerful scene of kindness.

The Heart of Yuba County’s Community Support

This week, Marie Vue personally delivered the collected food donations to the Yuba-Sutter Food Bank. This organization quietly supports hundreds of families in the region every week, especially during times of increased need like the holidays.

As Marie helped unload the donations alongside volunteers, she reflected on what makes Yuba County unique. It’s not about who has the most resources, but about who gives the most to help others. This spirit of generosity is what strengthens the community.

Marie shared, “This campaign has always been about more than politics. It’s about people — our families, seniors, veterans, and neighbors who show up for one another. That’s the spirit that built Yuba County, and that’s what keeps it strong.”

How Small Acts Create Big Impact

In District 1, the ripple effect of kindness is clear. Even small contributions, like a few cans of food or a few minutes spent volunteering, can make a significant difference. The Yuba-Sutter Food Bank relies on these acts of generosity to continue serving local families.

Here are some ways the community’s support makes a difference:

  • Providing meals for families facing hardship

  • Supporting seniors who may struggle with food access

  • Helping veterans and their families during difficult times

  • Ensuring children have enough to eat, especially during holidays

Each donation, no matter the size, helps keep these services running and strengthens the safety net for those in need.

Gratitude and Community Commitment

Marie extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to this effort. Whether it was a single item or a box full of food, every donation counts. This campaign has reminded us all that community service starts with compassion and commitment, not with a title or an election.

The generosity shown by Yuba County residents reflects the true spirit of the area — people who care deeply about their neighbors and work together to build a stronger community.

As the campaign moves forward, this experience serves as a powerful reminder: giving back is a shared responsibility that unites us all.
